Jenkin still king of the ramp

GLADSTONE cyclist Matt Jenkin pencilled his name down in the Maryborough Masters history books after winning his fourth straight Ramp Sprint title recently.

The State Sprint champion was at his pacy best to win the popular 150-metre drag race from his good friend Adrian Lohmann.'

As is the case with all sprint races, the start proved crucial and Jenkin blew his Rockhampton rival off the line to ensure a half-a-second victory.

Jenkin was rapt to be the King again and said even though his time was slower than recent years, it was a good win.

'It's great to win the title again,' Jenkin said.

'I was very happy to beat Adrian, I beat him cold and even though my time was slower than the past, it still was enough to win.

'Nothing beats being the king of the ramp sprint.' Gregor Mactaggart
