Hardressers show their style

By NATALIE PEUT A CHANCE to enhance their career and gain experience was why a number of local hairdressers have entered the Central Queensland Rotary Hairdressing competition tomorrow.

Mopheadz third-year apprentice Lucy Rogers said the competition was a wonderful opportunity for Gladstone hairdressers to show off their talent.

"It is a fantastic way to get up to date with what's new and out there in the hair fashion industry,''she said.

"We have been preparing our models for weeks, not only their hair but also their outfits.

Lucy said she was entering the commercial cut section of the competition and was looking forward to seeing what other hairdressers around Central Queensland had come up with.

"It's been a lot of fun and certainly has been a different experience,'' she said.

Organiser Julie Watt said the event would be judged by accredited Australian Hair Fashion Council judges.

"The categories include best level one and two apprentice, best level three and four apprentice and best senior,'' she said.

"The competition is open to the public at an admission price of a gold coin.

"A barbecue and bar will be operating all day.
