A WEDDING proposal is usually a private moment between a couple over a dinner.
But for one local women Vanessa McKenzie , her special moment was shared with 25,000 other people.
Vanessa's boyfriend Joe Guinea proposed in the middle of the stadium at half time of the Brisbane Broncos v Melbourne Storm match at Suncorp stadium last weekend.
For the past four weeks Mr Guinea had been planning the proposal.
Having contacts with the Brisbane Broncos came in handy for the local man as he organised his elaborate proposal.
Joe said he was extremely nervous and certainly had a few drinks leading up to his four verse poem which he had written for her.
"I was so nervous, to get out and propose in front of 25,000 people was quite scary,'' he said.
"Leading up I had to test the waters by checking with a number of other ladies on what they thought of what I was about to do.''
Wife-to-be Vanessa, said she was so embarrassed, reacting to the proposal with her head in her hands the whole time.
"It came to a complete shock, one minute I was watching the entertainment, then I found myself sitting there watching my boyfriend propose,'' she said.
"They kept the secret for the past three weeks really well.'' She said after the shock retreated, it was quite an exciting moment. "I have been waiting for this for quite some time now, nudging hints here and there,'' Vanessa said.
"Now it's finally happened, but certainly in a way I wasn't expecting.
