Good service a winner at Auckland Hil B&B

AUCKLAND Hill B&B has scooped the prestigious annual Overall Customer Service Excellence Award for 2005.

For the owners Terry and Theresa Mitchell, years of hard work and dedication have paid off with some deserved recognition.

'It is an honour and recognition for the hard work for our business and these awards give encouragement for Gladstone businesses in the region,' Mr Mitchell said.

Mrs Mitchell said their flexibility in fulfilling different requests, such as welcoming people with disabilities and overseas visitors, made a difference.

The Customer Service Excellence Awards are handed out by the Gladstone Area Promotion and Development Limited (GAPDL) monthly. Auckland B&B also won the service award for November.

GAPDL CEO Danial Rochford said that the business made guests comfortable with its attention to detail in all facets of service.

In November 1998 Terry and Therese Mitchell took a gamble and set up the corporate accommodation.

This year they also won a Regional Tourism Award and were finalists in Premier Peter Beattie's Export Awards.

Winning these awards and some good old-fashioned hard work have helped Terry and Therese gain both national and international recognition.
