Fragiacomo back in the game

NEWLY-APPOINTED AFL Capricornia area development manager Brett Fragiacomo won't have to spend any time getting to know his backyard.

Fragiacomo, who is a former Gladstone Mudcrabs player, was earlier this month appointed to replace his predecessor John Timms and is already enjoying his return to his old stomping grounds.

The 26-year-old, who will now line up for Rockhampton club Brothers, said the code was in excellent health in the Central Queensland region, and he was looking forward to maintaining that momentum.

'With the (Brisbane) Lions doing so well over the last few years, we've been increasing our junior numbers ? participation levels have gone through the roof,' Fragiacomo said yesterday.

'Because I've turned up halfway through the footy season, I won't be making changes ... just keep the ship going the way it's been going.

'In the off-season I'll look to introduce some programs, such as training camps and in the new year see if we can get some school competitions up and running.'

Fragiacomo said he was looking forward to making his first trip to Gladstone next month to promote the Auskick program.
