Flo enjoys her RSL helpers

FLO Stewart, 85, doesn't get around much any more ? at least not on her own.
When she does, it's often with the help of Gladstone's RSL Care.
The service provides social support and transport to the widows of Australian services personnel.
"It's the companionship they give that I look forward to most ? they are marvelous,'' says Flo.
The group is looking for volunteers to carry out some home duties or provide transport to members of the veteran community.
RSL Care volunteers show up at Flo's place to do the cleaning or to take her shopping.
RSL Cares' Josh Ariens said to be eligible to volunteer, the person has to be more than 18 years of age and have a driver's licence.
After a preliminary interview, volunteers undertake a brief training program. Anyone interest in volunteering should call 4972 5197.
