Doctor charged with rape of patient

A GLADSTONE doctor was charged yesterday with the rape and sexual assault of one of his patients.

Gladstone Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) Senior Constable Kirsty McKenny said a 41-year-old female patient made the allegations following a visit to the doctor at a Gladstone surgery.

Snr Const McKenny said the alleged assault occurred on November 29.

Police seized the doctor's work computer and patient records from his office yesterday.

The doctor has been bailed to appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court on January 5, 2006.
