Dirtriders gear up for big weekend

TOMORROW'S Gladstone Dis- trict Dirtriders meet at Benar-aby looks likely to draw a num ber of pro riders eager to back up after tonight's Indoor Moto- cross event in Rockhampton.

Riders from throughout the state will contest the Rock- hampton event, and the Glad- stone event has drawn interest from a number of those heading back to Brisbane and other southern centres tomorrow.

Also in action tomorrow will be Gladstone youngster Nathan Crawford, who has this year mixed it with the best 65cc 7-9 years competitors in Queens- land while contesting the Sun- shine State Motocross Series.

Competitors in all classes will chase championship points and, with little separating the leading riders in several class- es, local riders will not be lack- ing motivation.

Racing starts at 9.30am and a canteen and bar will operate throughout the day.

Admission costs $2 per per-son or $6 per car. Inquiries: Ju- lie Maeyke 0428 452 645.
