Colonial Bill still in rough patch

ANOTHER poor start proved costly for Colonial Bill who ran fourth in the Hahn Premium Class 1 handicap at Tuesday's Rockhampton TAB meeting.

The Angela Stephens-trained five-year-old has had trouble with his last couple of starts in races and it proved costly.

He again made ground on the front runners, but couldn't catch race winner Native Knight who won at good odds.

It was an unlucky day for a couple of other local hopes Bundy Rose and Kincardine who both suffered interference in their races.

Bundy Rose battled on to finish fifth for Lucy Timson and Shane Brown, while Kincardine could keep going second up from a spell and weakened to finish last.

Gladstone trainer Denis Schultz could be headed back to the country meetings with his horse Let's Reconsider who finished seventh for the fourth consecutive race.

It was also a tough day for Lucy Timson who was unable to score a placing.

Her fifth on absolute roughie Madnesnikov was a sensational ride and worthy of a mention.
