Clinic by BMX champ heads busy calendar

A COACHING clinic with fourtimes national champion Dirk Winter will be one of the highlights of a busy nine days of racing for Harbour City BMX Club competitors this month.

Winter, who is also ranked No.2 in the world, will conduct the clinic with BMX Queensland state coaching director Frankie Winter at the Gladstone club's Sun Valley Park headquarters on June 23.

Prior to that, the club will host its annual two-day Mother of all Motos event beginning next Saturday.

Competitors from throughout Australia will be in action, including a strong lineup in the special "Fiery Thirteens'' events, in addition to knockout competition in other junior and senior divisions.

That event is followed by the Queensland Country BMX Championships warm-up event on June 22 followed by the championships on June 25-26.

The Queensland Country BMX Championships is a closed event, open only to licensed riders from the Far North, North and Central Queensland zones.

Officials are busy completing preparations for the championships in what is shaping up to be one of the most exciting periods in the Harbour City club's history.
