Central calls for socer players to register

CENTRAL Soccer Club is calling on any men interested in playing seniors this year to make their intentions known.

After reaching the grand finals in both local divisions last year, the club has had an influx of players and is considering entering a second team in this year's local competition.

However according to Central president Allan McNeil, the club needs to secure the final numbers soon in order to make a decision.

'What we want is for anyone who has already signed on, or is wanting to play this year to come down to the Sun Valley grounds this Saturday night for our first home game. Once we have the final numbers and start registering these blokes we can make a decision regarding the second team,' McNeil said.

'We have also had some guys sign on but haven't yet been registered, we need these guys to come down and make their intentions known otherwise they could miss out.'

McNeil added that it was possible for some new players to secure a place in one of the two Capricornia League teams if they so wished.

'With the four senior men's teams, there is room for some flexibility, so any new or return players are welcome,' McNeil said.

Central plays its first home game tomorrow night at Sun Valley grounds, Mercury Street starting with women, local men's and both Cap League teams taking the field.
