Car enthusiasts get a glimpse of Supercars

GLADSTONE'S car enthusiasts turned out in force to the V8 Supercar drivers' dinner on Saturday night.

The event, which was dubbed a huge success by organisers, allowed locals to meet and greet with some of Australia's V8 Supercar drivers while also hearing about their personal experiences.

Co-ordinator Gavin Dicinoski said the night was a huge success.

'It was fantastic, we had over 150 people turn out for the event, and they all dug deep to help raise the money for the Roseberry Community Service,' he said.

'We raised around $15,000 for the service, minus the expenses which need to be taken out.'

V8 driver Tony D'Alberto said he was pleased to attend the drivers' dinner.

'It's good to give back to the guys who support not only me but racing,' he said.

'I would love to come back to Gladstone next year to help raise money for charity.'
