Calliope hosts moto trials

ABOUT 60 riders, many from Bris- bane, will contest the 2005 Gladstone Interclub Moto Trials event at Calli- ope this weekend.

The event will be the largest of its kind staged in Gladstone with Bris- bane riders lining up to repay their Gladstone and Rockhampton coun- terparts who regularly make the trip south for competition.

Central Queensland Trials Club member Cedric van Heerden said Gladstone and Rockhampton riders usually fared well against their citycousins.

'We usually give them a touch- up,' van Heerden said.

'We normally take out a few first placings ? it should be even easier at home where we know the home conditions.'

Van Heerden said a testing course, featuring gullies, log jumps, rock beds and hill climbs, would greet rid- ers of all grades on Saturday and Sunday at the River Ranch Estate, Calliope.

For directions or other inquiries phone Cedric van Heerden 4972 8294, 0438 759 200 or Ken Cutmore 0418 980 046.
