Brothers need to be at best

GLADSTONE Brothers will need to be at their best this Sunday when they head up the Bruce Highway for their CQ Extended League A grade clash with Yeppoon.

The Brethren enter the match as favourites after Trevor Huth and Clinton Docherty ran riot in their comprehensive 42-14 win over Fitzroy-Gracemere last weekend.

Coach Matt Jones knows his team face a tough test against the young Seagulls who are coming off a honest performance against Wallabys.

Look out for recent City squad selections Docherty, Ben Platt, James Radloff and Clint Doherty to lead the way for the Brethren in front of the Seagulls fanatical home crowd.

The only Extended League match in Gladstone this weekend is tonight at Marley Brown Oval where Wallabys host FitzroyGracemere.

Wallabys had to work hard last week for the two points against Yeppoon, but should have enough to account for the ever-committed Sharks.

Both of the league's other matches look to be David versus Goliath affairs.

Undefeated CQU Norths could almost rack up a cricket score against the winless Valleys in their clash at Browne Park tonight.

Meanwhile, Tannum Sands coach Graham Appo is looking for a better effort from his team when the Seagulls travel up to Victoria Park to take on an inform Rockhampton Brothers.
