FORMER Gladstone jockey Brad Pengelly is in for a busy weekend with rides today at Doomben and tomorrow on the Sunshine Coast.
The classy hoop has six rides booked for what is a good day's racing in Brisbane and includes a couple of big chances.
His best appears to be Minoa in race four, who Pengelly piloted to victory two starts back at Class 3 level.
A third last start wasn't a bad run and John Morrisey always has his horses ready to run.
Pengelly also has a collection of solid each-way hopes in the Bruce McLachlan-trained pair Sharp Aunty (race six, no.11) and Little Punc (race seven, no.6).
And a surprise victory wouldn't be out of the question for the Gerald Ryan two-year-old Valconic and Lindholme trained by Wally Ingram.
Shifting to tomorrow's racing at the Sunshine Coast, where Pengelly currently leads the jockeys premiership on 14 winners.
He will be looking to extend that form with a great book of seven rides, six of which are for Bruce McLachlan.
Expect there to be at least a couple of impressive runners in the bunch, with Streets of Fire (race one, no.9), El Abanico (race three, no.3) and Only Vision (race five, no.4) all in good form.
