BMX magic comes to Gladstone this weekend

A NUMBER of Australia's best BMX riders hit Gladstone for this weekend's Mother of all Moto's starting tomorrow at the Harbour City BMX club.

More than 230 riders are in town for the two-day event with over $13,000 in prizemoney on offer.

Top Australian professional Luke Madill from Victoria heads the list of 13 professionals coming to Gladstone. Madill, who is known as 'Doctor Smooth' in the BMX fraternity is a superstar in the sport and sure to thrill the crowd this weekend.

But the locals are sure to have their own fun with Gladstone's own national champion Krystal Cranfield leading the way.

Harbour City BMX club acting president Ron Young can't wait for what will be a magic weekend of entertainment.

'It is going to be a fantastic weekend, the racing should be just great and exciting for the fans,' Young said.

Other locals pinpointed to do well include Phillip Brezigar, Alex Nesevski and Ryan Young.

Young believes the Gladstone riders will hold their own and be in the hunt for the cash.

Competitors are coming from as far away as Western Australia, Tasmania and Victoria for the event which starts from 3pm on Saturday.

All spectators are welcome, with free admission for all.
