GLADSTONE'S Bianca Nathan is making a habit of turning out in Queensland colours.
In a year in which she represented Queensland Country in field hockey, Nathan will this weekend showcase her skills at the Australian Senior Indoor Championships in Wollongong.
Although admitting she is still adapting her game to the unfamiliar indoor version of the sport, Nathan obviously impressed state selectors with her efforts for Gladstone at the Queensland championships in February.
With the indoor field at major representative efforts being larger than what she is accustomed to in the Gladstone indoor competition, Nathan yesterday said she would again have to adapt her game but was confident she could do so.
"It will be interesting,'' Nathan said. "It will probably be a lot quicker than I'm used to.
'I adapted OK in February (and) fitness-wise I should be right. But I didn't know what I was going to be up against in February so I definitely don't know what I'll be up against at the nationals.'
Nathan heads to Brisbane today where she will join the rest of the Queensland team before heading to Wollongong before the championships start tomorrow.
Queensland will clash with an opposing state each day prior to the week-long championships' conclusion with finals on December 11.
In a memorable year, Nathan has not only represented Queensland and Queensland Country in the indoor and outdoor versions of the sport, she was also a member of the Meteors outfit which captured the Gladstone and District Hockey Association A1 women's premiership.
