Beach volleyball makes a return

BEACH volleyball returns to the former Harbour City Indoor Sports Centre on Monday with compe- tition to be conducted under the new Go For It Indoor Paintball and Beach Volleyball banner.

The new company, managed by Gladstone's Stu- art and Tracey Jarram, will launch its season with mixed fours competition on Monday night with other formats to continue throughout the week at the Goondoon Street complex.

Stuart Jarram said the new competitions were already drawing a significant amount of interest ahead of Monday's season launch.

'We've got quite a few people interested,' Jar-ram said.

'There's been a lot of word of mouth with players who used to play here.

'We know its going to be slow for a couple of weeks before people realise we're up and running.'

Jarram said more teams were welcome to nomi- nate while individuals could also put their name down and he would do his best to find a team for them.

Following Monday night's mixed fours competi- tion will be mixed sixes (Tuesday), mixed twos and threes (Wednesday), open fours (Thursday) and social nights (Friday to Sunday).

Indoor paintball will also be played at the centre with Jarram nominating a late February start for its introduction.
