Answering call for gear

TELSTRA has answered the call from Gladstone sporting clubs for vital equipment needed to ensure they continue to provide quality facilities for members.

Telstra ambassador and Gold Coast Titans player Mat Rogers, will be in Rockhampton on Wednesday to present local clubs with equipment grants from the Telstra Assistance Fund.

These clubs will receive equipment which will allow them to continue to run safe and engaging training sessions for their members.

Rogers will be on hand to present equipment to NRL, AFL, Surf Life Saving and swimming clubs from around the Country Coast and Capricornia region.

Eleven Gladstone region sporting clubs will receive grants, ranging from $1000 to $3500, with Agnes Water Life Saving Club the biggest winner.

Telstra area general manager Country Coast Capricornia Barbara Wells is looking forward to welcoming Mat to Rockhampton and presenting the equipment to the clubs.

“It's fantastic to be able to provide this sort of assistance to clubs like these that provide opportunities for participation in our community,” said Ms Wells. “The equipment these clubs have received means they can provide some of the latest gear.”
