Another thunderstorm warning issued for Gladstone

A SEVERE thunderstorm warning has been issued for Gladstone, with heavy rainfall expected over the next few hours.

The Bureau of Meteorology has warned the rainfall may lead to flash flooding in some areas.

Afternoon storm warnings have been common in the Gladstone region over the past few weeks.

Rainfall last week led to flooding and road closures.

Gladstone received 4.6mm of rain in the 24 hours to 9am on Wednesday, with 1mm at Boyne Island and 35mm at Awoonga Dam.

The dam was at 105% capacity at 1.35pm on Wednesday, with the water level at 40.54m.
