Brothers have another round down
GLADSTONE Brothers defeated CQU Norths 56-18 at Marley Brown Oval on Saturday night.
In round 14 of the 2010 Challenge Cup A-grade Biloela played Yeppoon, Gladstone Brothers went up against CQU Norths, Rockhampton Brothers battled the Wallabys and Valleys played Tannum Sands.
Gladstone Brothers’ Nathan Cameron scored three tries, Luke Vella and Brad Green each scored two tries and Tyson White, Jarrod Johnson and Jamie Russo scored one try.
Fullback James Radloff kicked eight goals for Brothers. “Brothers were a bit lacklustre in the first half but we came back strong in the second half,” Coach Mark Graham said.
“We had a win and we’ve got to be happy with that.”
In reserve-grade Brothers were defeated by CQU Norths 25-24 and in under-20’s Brothers defeated CQU Norths 40-36.
Rockhampton Brothers defeated Wallabys 50-14 at Victoria Park on Saturday night.
Wallabys had a lot of players out and had to pull players from the reserve side.
Coach Danny McAllister said a few players had to play both reserve and A-grade games.
“I was really proud of their effort,” he said.
In reserve-grade Wallabys defeated Rockhampton Brothers 23-22.
Yeppoon defeated Biloela 44-20 at Biloela on Saturday. Biloela coach Alby Boynton said the Yeppoon team were very disciplined.
“Biloela started off well and hung in try for try but failed to keep the play up under pressure,” he said.
“We had three under-20’s players playing A-grade and we played very well considering.
Zane Elliott and Brad Heid both scored one try and Stuart Horsner two. Stuart Horsner also successfully converted all four tries.
In the final game of the weekend Valleys played Tannum Sands at Marley Brown Oval yesterday.
Tannum Sands defeated Valleys 62-4.
Valleys coach mark McManus said he was happy with the way his guys played but disgusted with the refereeing.
Tannum Sands coach Wes Hallam said he was happy for a win after five losses in a row.
