Anderson and Sircelj tops in rain-affected monthly bowls

WET weather on Sunday halted play for the Gladstone 500.

The monthly bowls event was called off after two games because of the rain but there were still places awarded.

First place went to Marshall Anderson and John Sircelj, second to Gary Aryton and Brian Ahchay, third to Beryl Quinn and Jennine Lockwood and fourth was awarded to Dave Olsen and Jim Matheson.

"Sometimes we have to decide to finish the games early when it rains because of players who have not been in good health and don't need to get wet for a social game," said ladies president Faye Ford.

The next 500 event will be on November 25.
