Alleged ‘Rebels hunter’ wants freedom

A SUNSHINE Coast man who has been described as a "Rebels hunter" after he was allegedly caught with a loaded handgun, knife, cable ties and photos of bikies in his car is applying to the Supreme Court to be released on bail.

Benjamin Skey Black, of Peregian Beach, was arrested earlier this year at Noosaville and allegedly had the weapons, meth, an ice pick and photos of two Rebels motorcycle gang members in his car.

He wants to be released on bail, and his application has been adjourned for two weeks.

Mr Black's bail application was mentioned in Brisbane Supreme Court on Thursday when the prosecutor asked for an adjournment to allow more time to investigate the gun's ownership.

The court heard Mr Black will be sentenced on another matter in a magistrates court on September 3, and he could receive a jail sentence.

Mr Black's bail application will be heard in Brisbane in two weeks.
