Yandina Five member has bail conditions softened

ONE of the Yandina Five has had his bail conditions softened so he can legally "associate" with his father.

Scott Michael Conley, 36, appeared in Maroochydore Magistrates Court yesterday alongside co-accused Dan Whale, 26.

They were granted bail in the Brisbane Magistrates Court late last year, but Conley's bail conditions included that he not associate with the men he shared a beer with in the Yandina Hotel on November 1, as well as his father Michael Smith, a former Rebel bikie.

Those conditions have been modified, with the agreement of the police prosecutors, to allow Conley to associate with his father.

"He's very excited," Conley's sister Tracy Carew said.

"It's the first me he's been able to speak with him since he was released, which was about a month ago."

Conley is now allowed to associate with his brother, Josh Carew, who was also at the hotel that day.

The changes allow family members to more freely meet with their mother Jenny Smith.

Mrs Smith is in hospital suffering a stress-related condition.

She is also recovering from being kicked by a horse in July last year.

Whale had his residential address and his police reporting days and hours changed at the court hearing.
