PHOTOS: Agnes organic, vegan food store proves popular

THE new owner of Sol Foods Organics has added more menu items, a community table and created an environmental approach to the business.

And, it has worked.

Amber Lowcock has owned the Agnes Water organic food store since March.

"Financially we're going great but it's a lot for work for a family with three kids all under 7 years old to take on.

"It's a lot of time and hard work but to be able to provide this community a place that they can come in and get things that are organic and grown spray free makes it all worth it," she said.

"The store has turned into a little bit more of a cafe.

"We have a chef who makes some delicious food, the majority is raw and it's all vegan and organic."

Mrs Lowcock, also a volunteer with the Discovery Coast Environment Group, has more than halved the store's waste and stopped the usage of plastic bags.
