Albion Park renamed to honour long term member

WALLABY Rugby League Football Club playing grounds at Albion Park will be renamed to honour a long term member, George Mamalis.

Mr Mamalis was involved in the Wallaby's Club since the 1970s and although he passed away in the early 80s, his son is still a member.

The club asked Gladstone Regional Council if the grounds could be re-named to recognise Mr Mamalis' contribution, and today the request was passed by the council.

A sign will be installed at the entrance to the playing fields.
