A LAUNDRY liquid ad out of India has gone viral after it questioned the roles of a husband when it came to household chores.

The ad, produced by BBDO's Mumbai office for washing detergent brand Ariel, follows a father's apology to his daughter as he witnesses his son-in-law sit on the couch watching televsion as his daughter returns from work to take care of the house, dinner and her son.

The father apologises for setting the example with her mother that it was ok for her to take care of maintaining the house.

He continues to apologise for her husband's father for also setting the same example.

The ad is promoting the hashtag #sharetheload which the father can be seen doing at the end of the ad.
