Accused cop biter’s case adjourned

A FORMER Mackay man accused of biting a police officer while resisting arrest has had his case adjourned until October.

Wilhelmus Maria Ryke, 45, is accused of two counts of serious assaulting a police officer while resisting arrest, biting an officer, trespass and possessing a knife while he was on the grounds of the Christian Science Church in Brisbane on July 9 this year.

His case was mentioned before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, when it was adjourned for more than a month.

Mr Ryke's case will be mentioned against on October 6 at Brisbane Magistrates Court.
