Man hit in head by boat propeller
A YOUNG Moura man almost died on Saturday after he was struck to the head with a boat engine and propeller while boating on the Dawson River.
RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Services arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and flew the 24-year-old to Rockhampton Hospital with suspected head and brain injuries.
It is believed the man was standing on the front of the boat while travelling at high speeds.
He lost his footing, fell over the front of the boat and was struck to the head by the boat's engine and propeller.
He remains in a serious but stable condition.
