ABS hiring for census 2016 field officers

IF you're interested in the Gladstone community and looking for work, the Australian Bureau of Statistics is hiring Census Field Officers around Australia.

An advertisement placed in today's Observer noted that 38,000 field officers are needed for the August 9 census date.

Field officers are casual positions with flexible working hours including some evening and weekend work.

You will be required to  do a range of procedural, operational and administrative duties.

The role pays $21.61 per hour.

Five things you must do as a field officer:

  • Know your local community
  • Be of reasonable fitness
  • Have a home computer with internet access and be comfortable using a mobile or tablet device
  • Comply with ABS work health and safety policies
  • Have a current driver's license
