Abbott not on O'Dowd's election campaign wish list

DON'T expect a former PM to drop in on the surfers at Agnes Water/1770 any time soon.

Flynn MP Ken O'Dowd this morning told The Observer that while he's compiling a list of Government ministers he's keen to bring to the electorate for any upcoming election campaign, former PM Tony Abbott isn't on his wish list.

Mr Abbott has been in the headlines this week after announcing he would make his own national election tour of marginal seats to support the Coalition.

A picture of him dropping-in on a 17-year-old surfer at Noosa this week has gone viral.

Preparing for what promises to be a hard-fought election campaign, Mr O'Dowd said he was putting together his list of ministers.

And he struck a diplomatic line when asked if Mr Abbott was on the list.

He said he was focused on utilising front bench members of the current Turnbull Government.

Mr O'Dowd said he was waiting to see who else would nominate to contest the seat.
