Forget league, Aaron has big plans in Aussie Rules
AARON Hill wants to play for Collingwood when he grows up. It's a different dream to many Queensland kids who want to represent the Brisbane Broncos.
But Hill isn't worried about NRL in general, much preferring Aussie Rules as his family always has.
His Friday night was slightly marred by a Collingwood loss, but the 13-year-old was not going to let the same happen to his own team the Gladstone Mudcrabs.
Hill went out and did what has been brought up to do.
The Mudcrabs under 13s won by 113-0.
It is a long way from the days when Hill first walked onto the oval.
After watching it his whole life he was anxious as to how it would be to play when he first started.
"My parents were big fans so I thought I would give AFL a go," he said.
"I have played for four years."
Now a leader in his Mudcrabs team, he is impressed with the team work and commitment from his mates.
"We share the ball around," he said. "That was our third match and we had one loss and one win before it."
The Mudcrabs play Yeppoon at home next week.
It will be another match where Hill will need to be on top of his game.
Yeppoon have the same record as Gladstone, only the Swans have scored nearly three times the amount of points of their opponents so far this year.
