Man slashed tyres to get back at partner

A MAN who slashed the tyres of his own vehicle to get back at his partner has been fined $1000 with a conviction recorded.

Scott Anthony Pye pleaded guilty to contravention of release conditions at Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The crane operator had just been released from custody on July 17 when he saw his vehicle outside the Reef Hotel.

Pye claimed he thought he didn't do anything wrong because it was his vehicle.

Magistrate Penelope Hay said of Pye, "your actions were directed at your partner".

"These sorts of sneaky acts will not enable you to get around the law."
