Six-year-old stoked to have day off to meet baby brother

LITTLE Blake Casperson's face lit up with joy when he rushed into the Gladstone Hospital room to meet his young brother.

After months of waiting, the moment finally arrived yesterday for the six-year-old to meet his new brother.

James Casperson was born at the Gladstone Hospital yesterday morning at 5.52am.

Blake, a chirpy and proud older brother, was almost lost for words when he met him.

"He's really good," he said, between beaming his wide smile and glancing towards his brother.

James is the second child to Teeanna Thomsen and Eric Casperson.

Teeanna arrived at the Gladstone Hospital shortly after 5am.

"Blake's very excited...he's got the day off school today," Teeanna said.

"This morning we woke him up and Eric said, 'mum's off to the hospital'."

Before midday James was already treated to plenty of cuddles.
