Residents are loving gardens' cafe following renovations

A CACOPHONY of coffee lovers can again be heard at the Tondoon Botanic Gardens after its cafe reopened two weeks ago after renovations.

Savour the Flavour at the Gardens manager Janelle Noonan said business had been excellent.

"We're getting absolutely smashed," she said.

"We were booked out for Mother's Day over a week ago."

The cafe has served more than 1000 cups of coffee since it opened two weeks ago.

The main changes are more comfortable seating, including cushions, and a light and easy menu, Ms Noonan said.

A liquor licence is also on the way.

Gladstone Regional Council manages the Tondoon Botanic Gardens and funded the renovations.

Parks and environment manager Helen Paulsen said the cafe had been "made into fabulous from awesome".

"We've fully renovated the kitchen so a much broader variety of menu can be prepared," she said.

"We had extensive support from the councillors to get it happening and huge support from the public."
