Playing with paint on no bar to side's win
JAMIE-LEE Gehrmann has played softball for 13 years, and has become very comfortable anywhere on the diamond.
On Saturday though, Gehrmann was more uncomfortable than she had been in a long time taking the field.
Turning up late, the 17-year-old was out of sorts running onto the outfield.
But it was the make-up she was wearing which put Gehrmann on edge and out of sorts.
"I got my make-up test done for my prom," she said.
"I just want to take it off, I have never played in it before."
It was not just the make-up causing problems while Gehrmann was in the heat of the afternoon.
"I have hairspray all through my hair too," she said. "That all took about four hours, so then I was late too."
The discomfort didn't stop Gehrmann from playing well, reeling off hits with little issue.
It was not the make-up issue which nearly prevented her from getting on base either, but giving up on a play after popping up in the in-field.
Gehrmann's Crocs team didn't see the harm in the make-up, having a ball against a fellow Crocs outfit.
It was a hit-and-run fest in the match, with both sides unable to stop the rally of scores at home plate.
