15-year-old arrested over house fire

A 15-year-old girl has been arrested over her involvement in a fire at a One Mile home on Monday morning and will now appear before the Youth Justice Conference.

It is believed the girl lit an item near the home, which subsequently caught fire.

The home's owner, Ricky Murphy, lost everything in the blaze.

He was at sister Laverne's home at the time of the fire.

The girl will sit down in an organised conference with a convenor, a police officer and Mr Murphy, should he wish to attend.

A conference usually involves the victim, the young offender and their family in decisions about what should happen to repair the harm that has been caused.
