Rockhampton Art Gallery friends go on Gladstone excusion

AFTER a successful trip to the Capricorn Coast in 2015, Friends of Rockhampton Art Gallery are looking forward to this year's excursion to Gladstone.

Leaving the Rockhampton Art Gallery this Saturday 21 May at 8.30am, it will travel to the Gladstone and Regional Art Gallery and Museum to view two exhibitions, visit The Potters' Place, have lunch at the Tannum Sands Hotel, and take in the Calliope River Historical Village, before returning home at 5pm.

The exhibitions at the Gallery are 'One Wish', Katrina Elliott's exploration of hope, health and courage with cancer suffers; and 'Industrial Fibre, Fibre and Industry', Lidia Godijn's exploration of the diverse colours, reflections and shapes of industry.

The Historical Village has early buildings from the area, including the Raglan Dance Hall, Larson House and the Ambrose Railway Station.

Seats are still available. Cost is $35, which includes the coach trip and admission to the Historical Village. Lunch meals range between $15-$20. A fantastic day is assured.

Contact the Rockhampton Art Gallery, 4936 8248; eftpos payment can be made.
