WATCH: Damage done to Caboolture home struck by lightning

UPDATE 7AM: RESIDENTS of a Caboolture home struck by lightning have shared video footage of the damage done.

The strike hit a TV antenna, piercing tiles and ceiling leaving a large crater like hole in the roof.

EARLIER: THE occupants of a house in Jensen St Caboolture were lucky to escape injury this afternoon after lightning struck their TV antenna before piercing the tiles and ceiling.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service Caboolture station officer Bruce Ford said the lightning had entered the living area and caused some smoke.

He said the lightning damaged the electrical supply to the house and had left a hole in the roof.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services have left the scene.

State Emergency Service personnel had been contacted to repair damage to the roof. Queensland Ambulance Service attended the scene.

The occupants of the house were visibly shaken from the experience but physically unharmed.
