82-year-old man allegedly crashed car into woman at markets

Two women have been injured in a serious traffic incident at Yungaburra this afternoon.

Around 12.05pm, police were notified that a vehicle had left the roadway and gone into a park off Kehoe Place, hitting a 52-year-old woman and 21-year-old woman.

The 52-year-old woman sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to the Townsville Base Hospital.

The 21-year-old woman sustained non life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Atherton Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, an 82-year-old man, was not injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
