80-year-old masseur charged with rape of customers

POLICE have charged an 80-year-old Cooran man following investigations into two alleged incidents at a massage stall at a Sunshine Coast market.

The alleged incidents have occurred on June 19, 2011 and August 17, 2014 at the farmer's market on Fisherman Road at Maroochydore.

In both incidents it is alleged the man has indecently assaulted female customers during the course of a massage.

The man was charged with one count of rape and two counts of sexual assault and is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on September 24.

Police are appealing for women who have attended massage stalls at Sunshine Coast markets and believed they may have been a victim of assault to contact police at Maroochydore CIB on 54752429 or Policelink on 131444.
