80-year-old man from North Stradbroke Island found safe

UPDATE: The 80-year-old man reported missing from Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island has been located safe and well.

EARLIER: AN elderly man has been reported missing and is believed to be somewhere in the bush near the township of Dunwich, North Stradbroke Island.

80-year-old Ronald Maher was last seen on Wednesday at his residence at Dunwich.

It's currently unknown if he is still on the island or has travelled to Cleveland. 

He regularly goes on walks in the bush and his usual route would take him near 'One Mile Jetty' on Dunwich shops.

He is described as 80-years-old, 180cm tall, medium build and of Caucasian appearance with brown eyes and greying hair.

Police ask anyone who has seen Mr Maher of have any further information to contact Policelink on 131444.
