Energy Skills Qld seeks motivated people for rail project
ENERGY Skills Queensland is seeking highly motivated and interested candidates for a rail project.
Local participants will be selected to undertake rail industry training and inductions which will equip them with highly practical rail requirements and skills.
Energy Skills Queensland CEO Penelope Twemlow highlighted rail sector opportunities for the Rockhampton, Mackay and Coolangatta regions.
"Energy Skills Queensland have been working closely with CR Rail to identify skills and training needs to ensure as many locals as possible can kick-start their careers in the rail industry," Miss Twemlow said.
"Our Queensland Workforce Skilling Strategy has trained over 950 job seekers over the past five years, ensuring more Australians are able to benefit from gaining meaningful employment."
The participants of the Queensland Workforce Skilling Strategy Programme will gain employment opportunities in Queensland and be based from Coolangatta, Rockhampton and Mackay.
"We are seeking a mix of job seekers from a range of backgrounds, ages, genders and experiences, which are keen to jump into careers in the rail industry," Miss Twemlow said.
Past participants said the program had helped them to build strong work values, communication skills and confidence, along with learning the skills needed for a career change.
Energy Skills Queensland facilitates the provision of a skilled workforce that meets the evolving needs of Queensland's energy, mining and telecommunications industries.
Energy Skills Queensland's Queensland Workforce Skilling Strategy will be presenting a series of information sessions, including one at Rockhampton.
These sessions will provide information to the community about the availability and eligibility for training and employment.
