2015 a top year for Killarneyites
KILLARNEY is shaping up for another busy year for its volunteers.
To start the year the Killarney Lions Club will host the Killarney Australia Day Awards and celebrations with a breakfast in the Pat Bush Bi-Centennial Park on Monday, January 26.
While the Lions Club members are busy with Australia Day, the Killarney Show and Rodeo Society are busy in the background getting ready for their annual show to be held February 20-22.
The Killarney Cutters kick their season off with a trial game against the Warwick Cowboys for the Xylon Smith Memorial Shield on Saturday, February 29, with the first Border league fixture game in Killarney on April 11.
March 28-29 will see the two day Border Ranges Trial Ride held in the hills around Killarney. This is a major fundraiser for the Killarney State School P&C Association.
The Killarney RSL Sub Branch are working hard to make this year's Anzac Day ceremony a special day as it marks 100 years on the Anzacs, so keep Saturday, April 25 free on your calendar to attend this year's service.
The Killarney Polocrosse Club will hold their annual carnival May 9-10.
The Killarney Memorial Aged Care Centre major fundraiser the Bonfire and Fire Drum Night will be held on Saturday, July 18.
If that isn't enough, the Waddle and Saddle Walk or Ride through the Condamine Gorge will be held again in August.
These are just some of the events being held in Killarney in the first half of 2015.
