1770 cruise fire rescuers and volunteers thanked

THE board of the 1770 Bowls Club has sent out an open invitation to the community to show its appreciation of the rescuers of the Spirit of 1770.

The club is hosting a thank you day on Friday June 3 with barefoot bowls, a free sausage sizzle and raffles.

The bowls start at 3pm and the sausages at 5pm.

Burnett member Stephen Bennett and Gladstone Regional Councillors will be there.

All monies raised will be donated to the emergency services involved.

The club would like emergency service personnel to wear their full uniforms but they can take off their shoes while playing barefoot bowls.
