$10.6 mil allocated to Burnett Hwy roadworks for 2015/16

MEMBER for Callide Jeff Seeney has asked a question all of his electorate wanted to know.

Mr Seeney asked the Minister for Main Roads, Road Safety and Ports and Minister for Energy and Water Supply, Honourable Mark Bailey, what funding would be made available to upgrade the Burnett Hwy?

Mr Bailey said there was $27.2 million in funding provided for projects in 2014-15 on the Burnett Hwy and $10.6 million allocated for 2015-16 works.

Of the $27.2 million, $14.3 million will be to restore the road under the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.

The projects expected to be delivered in 2014-15 were the widening of the Callide Creek Bridge and widening the pavement from Lawgi to Thangool.

There was also $9 million allocated from within the $14.3 2015-16 budget to widen and seal various sections of the highway at Biloela in 2015-16.
