10.5m long snake found on construction site

And you thought the snake you found in your backyard was big.

Construction workers in Brazil have found a giant snake measuring 10.5 metres long on a building site, reports the NZ Herald

According to reports, the snake weighed around 400kg and in some places was a metre in diameter, though you can be forgiven for taking that with a grain of salt.

Many commenters viewing the video of the snake being hoisted by a chain are under the impression that it is dead because of the chain.

One user wrote: "I'm not sure this is real, but if it is, shame on these people for killing it! A snake that big has probably been alive for a very long time now, just to be killed for a few pictures?? What a waste..."
