A GLADSTONE boatie is concerned that four buoys near Wiggins Island pose a safety risk to fishermen.
Allen Dyball said the floats, which he believed belonged to one of the industries in the region, had no lights on them and would therefore be impossible to see at night.
"If you hit them at night time it's potentially a very bad accident," Mr Dyball said.
"If you have something floating in a river some-where there should be lights on them," he said.
A resident for 40 years, Mr Dyball said he was worried about the community.
"A lot of people use that place for crabbing and fishing," he said.
"Obviously they are not thinking of the public."
