BIG HITTER: Johnathan Thurston visits students at Tanyalla, Tannum Sands.
COWBOYS and State of Origin legend Johnathan Thurston was in town yesterday catching up with students as part of the ARTIE program.
In legacy of the late Arthur Beetson, ARTIE is an Australian Government supported program funded under the Sporting Chance initiative.
Thurston was encouraging school attendance, good behaviour, academic achievement and effort.
More than 100 students from Gladstone State High and Toolooa were involved.
