Twilight bowls sessions

THE game of lawn bowls is being taken to the community with the Boyne Tannum Bowls Club beginning Twilight Bowls sessions.

Each Thursday night you can come down to the Boyne Island club and enjoy a game of barefoot social bowls with friends or family from 4-7pm.

You must be aged 10 years or over to take part is the sessions which cost $5 for two-and-a-half hours on the green.

Beginning this month the sessions have attracted some solid interest so far and if the need be they will be extended to Friday night sessions as well.

Boyne Tannum Bowls Club president Neil Nugent said they would continue with the Twilight Bowls sessions until the 'dew starts coming in'

Nugent said the concept had been trialled in the past with success.

"We are trying different things to get more interest in the game," Nugent said.

"Twilight Bowls is about coming and having a try at the sport."
